My first attempt to a stronger skin

Here I find you,
Little bird, nearly withered on the streets. I recognize myself by how you are unwillingly crushed by the external. Your mouth, openend widely, but no sound approaching the ear. You swallowed your scream, scattering you now from within.
May I do an attempt on building you a protective skin? I’m quite crafty, you know. I will make you one from silicone that is elastic and indestructible; to be fold around a skeleton that can find grip even on shifting sands. It’ll be like a present.
